------------------------------------

I didn’t start my career in cybersecurity, and I definitely didn’t have everything figured out at any one point. Instead, I found myself working on challenging problems where technology, business, and risk all came together. Many times, there wasn’t a clear roadmap – I had to learn, ask questions, and work with people from different backgrounds to find the best path forward. Those experiences taught me that leadership isn’t about knowing every answer – it’s about being curious, helping others understand the problem, and working together to solve it.

Today, I help organizations understand and manage cybersecurity risks so they can continue serving the people who depend on them. Whether it's protecting sensitive information or making sure important systems stay up and running, cybersecurity is about helping organizations prepare for challenges before they become bigger problems. As new technologies like artificial intelligence continue to grow, cybersecurity is becoming even more important because we need to use these tools responsibly while protecting the people who rely on them.

One of the things I love most about cybersecurity is that the work you do can have a real impact on people's lives. In healthcare, for example, protecting technology helps hospitals and care teams continue providing care when patients need it most. Behind every secure system are real people, families, and communities who benefit from that work.

If you're thinking about a career in cybersecurity, remember that there isn't just one path to get there. Whether you enjoy technology, solving puzzles, analyzing data, or working with people, there's a place for you. Stay curious, keep learning, look for opportunities to gain hands-on experience, and don't be afraid to try something new. Cybersecurity needs people with different perspectives, and your unique skills could help solve tomorrow's biggest challenges.
